The district swimming event is an inter-school swimming carnival at which Beaumaris Primary participates in individual and team swimming races in competition with other schools. Students get to demonstrate individual ability, teamwork and sportsmanship in a competitive environment.

There are three phases
1. Squad trials 9 Feb 17
2. Training events before school 28Feb and 2Mar (7:15-8:00am) Other times may become available.
3. District swimming carnival 6 Mar (MSAC)

THIS EVENT IS OPTIONAL FOR ALL STUDENTS! We need a squad of around 40 students represent the school in freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breast stroke. Relays and individual races. Please discuss with your child their interest and ability levels and consider the training times and event times.

Students will be selected on ability to complete the events and there are limits to how many events each student may take part in.
Races start with diving from the blocks and are at least 50m in length.

Parents will need to get students to the Bayside Aquatic Centre for training times and school buses will be provided for the other events.
Parents are welcome to attend as spectators. The swimming coach from BAC will require students to complete drills and follow instructions and the pool deck at the district event is busy and off limits to all but competitors and directing staff.
