Beaumaris Primary School receives strong support from families through the payment of student charges and voluntary contributions. This financial support enables our school to provide a wide range of curriculum programs, and maintain and develop facilities and services that would otherwise not be possible given the school’s limited financial resources. In order to offer great educational experiences for students, the School Council has decided on the school charges and voluntary contributions for 2019 as set out on the payment schedule

 

Essential Education Items

 

The Essential Educational Items component covers student/class consumables plus Mathletics and Reading Eggs, which supplement our education program, but are not totally funded through Department of Education and Training.

 

Optional Educational Items

 

The Optional Educational Items component covers:

  • Prep – Year 4 swimming program with Bayside Aquatics
  • Year 5 and 6 lifesaving and water safety skills beach program with Bayside Aquatics. The Year 5 and 6 swimming program reflects feedback received from parents, students and teachers. In 2019 the Year 6 swimming program has been partly funded by DE&T. The swimming will be charged in 2019 when price confirmed.
  • Sports levy for Year 4 to 6
  • Excursions for all year levels to cover cost of activities, entry and seat-belted transport if required.

 

Voluntary Financial Contributions

 

The voluntary contributions assist with the provision of learning technologies, art and library materials, performing arts materials, sports equipment, facilities enhancement, grounds maintenance and other much-needed resources. Voluntary contributions to the Library and Building Funds are tax deductible and all are non-refundable.

 

Fundraising

 

We are so grateful for funds raised by Parent Club, Fete Committee and BFAC.  In 2018 voluntary contributions, donations and fundraising have been vital in enabling us to improve the learning environment for our students. These improvements include:

  • Ongoing maintenance of the oval, shade cloth, grounds and play equipment
  • Learning centre resources, literacy, mathematics and science resources, furniture and storage
  • Sandpit area refurbishment: Transformation of the outdated sandpit area into a natural sand/play outdoor learning space has been completed.
  • Underway soon is the installation of three large alfresco umbrellas between the end of the SALC and the current Year 2 classroom entry.
  • Replas tables and benches have been purchased for the installation around the umbrellas to maximise the space as an outdoor learning area.
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) resources: spheros, coding, robotics and technology equipment have been purchased.
  • Laptops: sixty additional laptops for use by our Year 3, 45 and 6 students.
  • Funds in reserve for the new volleyball nets to be installed after the new building works are completed.
  • Sound equipment
  • Line marking materials
  • Sunscreen for all classrooms

Purchase of technology equipment, additional iPads, iPad and laptop charging stations and lease of laptops

 

Our preferred option of payment is through the Qkr! App. This is a very convenient way for you to pay.
