Beaumaris Primary School receives strong support from families through the payment of student charges and voluntary contributions. This financial support enables our school to provide a wide range of curriculum programs, and maintain and develop facilities and services that would otherwise not be possible given the school’s limited financial resources. In order to offer great educational experiences for students, the School Council has decided on the school charges and voluntary contributions for 2020 as set out on the payment schedule.
Our preferred option of payment is through the Qkr! App. This is a very convenient way for you to pay.
Families who do not have an immediate capacity to pay are also able to enter into alternative and confidential payment arrangements with the school. Essential Education Items
The Essential Educational Items component covers:
- student/class consumables
- Mathletics and Reading Eggs, which supplement our education program, but are not totally funded by Department of Education and Training (DET).
Optional Educational Items
The Optional Educational Items component covers:
- Prep – Year 4 swimming program with Bayside Aquatics
- Year 5 and 6 lifesaving and water safety skills beach program with Bayside Aquatics. The Year 5 and 6 swimming program reflects feedback received from parents, students and teachers. In 2020 the Year 6 swimming program has been partly funded by DET.
- The swimming and Beach Program will be charged in Term 4 2020 when price and dates are confirmed.
- Sports levy for Year 4 to 6
- Excursions for all year levels to cover cost of activities, entry and seat-belted transport if required. Prompt payment allows classes to plan their excursions and activities.
- Year 4 only BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Program 2020
Our Vision and Purpose
As a school, we recognise our students need to develop a range of skills that support them as 21st
century learners. We feel with an increased number of devices, ideally a 1:1 environment, that the
benefits and opportunities for the teaching and learning of these 21st century skills will be expanded.
Teaching and learning in a 1:1 environment can positively impact across multiple facets of 21st
century learning skills and digital literacy skills.
Some of these include: Teachers ability to differentiate learning, building our students capacity to selfdirect and have ownership over their own learning. Increased collaboration during partner and group work. The development of students' creativity and variety in how they present their learning outcomes.
Voluntary Financial Contributions
The voluntary contributions assist with the provision of learning technologies, art and library materials, performing arts materials, sports equipment, facilities enhancement, buildings and grounds maintenance and other much-needed resources. Voluntary contributions to the Building Maintenance and Library Funds are tax deductible and all are non-refundable.
Fundraising
We are so grateful for funds raised by Parent Club, Fete Committee and BFAC. In 2019 voluntary contributions, donations and fundraising have been vital in enabling us to improve the learning environment for our students. These improvements include:
- Ongoing maintenance of the oval, shade cloth, grounds and play equipment
- Learning centre resources, literacy, mathematics and science resources, furniture and storage
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) resources: spheros, coding, robotics and technology equipment have been purchased.
- Laptops: additional laptops for use by our students.
- New volleyball nets and courts to be installed late 2019.
- Line marking to be completed late 2019.
- Sunscreen for all classrooms
- Significant enhancements to our new modular building finished in 2019.
