General Information
The before and after care program at Beaumaris Primary School caters for primary school aged children who, for various reasons, require care out of school hours. It is approved by School Council and is conducted by the qualified staff of Camp Australia. The staff aim to provide a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment for the children in their care. Staff/child ratios in the program are 1 staff member to 15 children. The Camp Australia website can be viewed at www.campaustralia.com.au or contact the OHSC Coodinator on 0452 247 837.
The Program
The program is designed to provide a variety of activities to meet the children's out of school hours needs. On arrival at each session the children are checked in and provided with a healthy afternoon tea or breakfast.
After their refreshments the children are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. Activities offered include Art & Craft, Cooking, Nike Go, Sports, Indoor games and activities eg. board gamers, construction, etc., computer games and Nintendo.
Those children who prefer, or need, a quiet time at the end of the school day are catered for as well. Older children with homework will be given time to complete it during the session if they wish.
Child Care Benefit
The program operates on a non-profit basis, with all income utilized in the day-to-day running of the program.
On 2 July 2018 the Child Care Subsidy replaced the Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate. The Child Care
Subsidy is paid directly to services to be passed onto families.
There are also changes to the annual cap which will make child care more affordable for most families.
This new subsidy is available to all families using Camp Australia services, and may affect the amount of fee assistance that each family will receive. Three things will determine a family’s level of Child Care Subsidy:
With the roll out of the new CCS, Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) is replacing Special CCB.
What this means for parents and how you can help:
More information about individual subsidy rates and annual cap changes is available in the New Child Care Package brochure and also in the Camp Australia Child Care Subsidy flyer.
